Nombrado por la revista Dance Magazine como uno de los \u00ab25 a seguir\u00bb en 2020, Hickey comenz\u00f3 a estudiar a los siete a\u00f1os con el legendario profesor de claqu\u00e9 y fundador del North Carolina Youth Tap Ensemble, Gene Medler. Como core\u00f3grafo, ha presentado sus trabajos en prestigiosos escenarios como el Birdland Jazz Club, Chelsea Factory, Little Island, 92NY y el Jacob\u2019s Pillow Dance Festival. Como miembro desde hace mucho tiempo de la galardonada compa\u00f1\u00eda de Michelle Dorrance, Dorrance Dance, Hickey ha actuado en el Kennedy Center, el Museo Guggenheim, el Festival de Danza de Kuopio (Finlandia), el New York City Center y The Ford en Hollywood.
