Restorative Culture: Johnathan Morin
This feature length documentary explores identity and belonging. It focuses on Tap Dancer, Johnathan Morin, raised in foster care, on a journey of self discovery as he balances his love for the African American art form, Tap, with his yearning to know his family’s Indigenous Nehiyaw heritage. In pursuit of his people’s knowledge of music, dance, teachings and community, Johnathan’s world is rocked as he is asked to make a big sacrifice.

CUTTING CONTEST WITH LIVE MUSIC
The cutting contest is an improv-based competition in which individual dancers must face off and perform on the spot to a set tempo while trying to impress a panel of judges and avoid getting cut. This time we will also count with live musicians accompanying the whole night! Prizes and scholarships will be awarded during this event.

Music and dance have always been a duo, but this one brings it to a new level with a modern and entertaining approach to both lines of art. This is a duo for the ears and the eyes: marimba music, from classical through improvised to contemporary, gets choreographed for the modern approach of tap dance. Daniel Borak, a tap dancer of the world stages, meets Manuel Leuenberger, the first Swiss Marimba One Discovery Artist, to reinvent a duo of the special kind called “Wooden Impact”.

Through music and dance, Trupe Toe company brings to the stage a powerful reflection around harrowing topics, provoking and inviting the public to increase a most sensible look to the change. The show is a feminist piece that look for bringing equality between genders to the stage. By non-violent communication, the piece seeks to raise awareness of our look through new manners, concepts, and contemporary society values.
