Rubén teaches regularly at the Luthier Professional Tap Program at Escola Luthier Dansa.
Rubén Pérez began his studies as a dancer at the Carmen Senra School in 1999 with Tino Roich. In 2001, he was awarded a scholarship to study in Berlin at the TapaToe school under the supervision of Cristina Delius and Anina Krüger. During this period he took workshops with renowned dancers such as: Brenda Bufalino, Tomas Marek, Max Pollak, Sebastian Weber and Josh Hilberman. In 2005, he traveled to New York to train in the art of Rhythm Tap. In 2006, he settled in Barcelona and took classes with Guillem Alonso, Roser Font, Roxane Butterfly and Laia Molins among others. As a tap dancer, he has been a member of the companies: Contaptoe; Rafael Amargo Company; Barcelona Rhythm Tap; Orchestra (Germany); Dance Brothers; Trakatap and Taparpegics. From 2009 to the present he is a member of the Tap Olé Company, ExhiBeat Company and the main dancer at the Cambuyon Company.
Guest artist at the “Tap Ahead” Festival, Düsseldorf 2009, at the Tap on Barcelona 2010, at the Blue Tap-Festival-Berlin 2012, at the XXIV Reus Tap Festival 2012 and at the Avoriaz Dance Festival ( France) from 2016 to 2019. Throughout his career he has taught tap dancing at different schools in Madrid, Berlin, France and currently in Barcelona.
Rubén is part of the Faculty of Luthier’s Professional Training Program for tap dancers.
